I’ve been hearing a lot about Marie Nails in the Los Angeles area and their use of CalGel nails with designs.
I had to move my stuff into storage and my nails took a HARD beating. Called and went to a few of the Marie Nails salons with NO luck on getting an appointment. I did go on a waiting list and BAM, got in.
I am going to be out of town for a while, so I wanted a gradient neutral nail with the ability to not have a noticeable grow out since It might be a month before I can go back.
Katie at the Harper location fixed me up well with a glittery job. I LOVE IT.

I’m pretty sure a lot of people have done this before! I used small paintbrushes on this (this was two years ago, and there weren’t any pens yet from where I come from).

A little something I did for UN day back in 2008 (along with 9 other flags which were easier to paint). Guess where I’m from? :3
It’s quite messy, though it’s relatively easy to do. I used a small paintbrush for the sun and the stars.
For some reason I had a really hard time taking a pic of my nails.
So, to clarify, I used a bright orange creme color as the base. A stroke of a slightly iridescent fuchsia. Last a gold pen for the dots.
I wanted bright colors again for summer and this has sort of a South Asian feel to it.
I tried Sephora’s top coat and it’s super shiny!
072310 ♥ 2I (Attallah) created my first nail design consisting of three stars on the thumb. What’s unique about this is that I used Sephora’s liquid eyeliner for the design. What I did was coat my nail with a clear base, covered that layer with Sally Hansen’s Silver Anniversary nail color, draw the design on a the nail when COMPLETELY dry, then topped it off with clear polish. I went swiimming for several hours today and it remained perfect!
071310This is Sally Hansen’s XtremeWear Blue Me Away along with Kiss Nail Art Black and White. I did these on my own, my finger nails matched. I started getting into doing my own nails since I got into an accident last Nov. and haven’t been able to go back to work therefore I have no money to get my nails done anymore.
Hope you guys like it!
071210I’m currently into China Glaze nail polish. I’m a newb when it comes to nails, so for the brush and the money, I think it is good.
This green is called Paper Chase. I also bought Sally Hansen Nail Art pen in black to do the random polka dots. I wanted to do something more intricate. but I discovered I’m not THAT ambidextrous.
070810 ♥ 2Just some fun experimenting to bring in the first day of Summer. I still have to work on it, but I love the pink/orange combo.
